This year, we celebrated the 14th Ultimate Taste Test. I am glad to be invited again as a food critic to this event. The entries were all very impressive. I appreciate everyone's creativity with the new dishes they came up with, their passion for coming up with their products, and their exemplary skills in making artisanal food.

Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory Cafe Opens in Estancia at Capitol Commons

Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory opens its second cafe in Estancia at Capitol Commons. I was invited recently to their media launch and was able to try most of the dishes that they offer on the menu. 

Japan x Rarindra Prakarsa

Early this year, I flew to Japan for a week for a modeling project. I still couldn't believe that I was able to work with a well-known photographer, Rarindra Prakarsa. He held his first workshop in Japan as he collaborated with Francis Ansing--one of the people whom I admire a lot for his photography skills; not to mention that he was also the first person who lent me a DSLR as I was trying to learn photography when I was in college. Sir Rarindra and Sir Francis are very humble in person and it was such an honor working with them.

The inauguration of Fuwa Fuwa happened last June 26, 2019, in their plant in Batangas, and I was lucky enough to be invited to this event. Japanese bread is really good and that's one of the things that I enjoyed when I was in Japan. I'm so glad that Fuwa Fuwa has launched in the Philippines and it's truly fluffy and good.

Best of Boracay: Manila Pop-Ups

This recent holiday, The Kain Tulog Gang had our lunch get-together at Hole in the Wall in Makati and we tried out four Manila Pop-Up restaurants from Boracay. Best of Boracay Manila Pop-Ups bring you Boracay's best restaurants. This is in line with Boracay's closure--the restaurant owners brought their staff here to help them out as well as the crowd's favorite dishes from the island. The pop-ups are extending their stay at Hole in the Wall until September 30, 2018.

Tori Chizu

Saturday lunch with foodie friends has let us try the newly-opened Tori Chizu in Eastwood Mall. The Corner Market (9/15): Inari by Hamaru

If you are craving for Japanese food then head on to Inari at The Cornet Market. My favorite pick is this Salmon Submarine Tofu Pocket. Known as a pouch of fried tofu filled with sushi rice, named after the Shinto God Inari who is believed to have a fondness for fried tofu. I personally don't like tofu but I definitely enjoyed this one. It's that good.  

Dohtonbori

Our third stop for our SM City North EDSA food crawl is at Dohtonbori. In spite of the number of dishes that we had for the day, I still have room in my tummy for their good food.

10 Ronin

Had an amazing lunch with friends from The Kain Tulog Gang (The KTG) at this Japanese-Filipino fusion restaurant.

Buddha-Bar Manila Celebrates Its 5th Anniversary

It was a privilege for me that I was invited to the celebration of Buddha-Bar Manila's 5th Anniversary. The last time that I came to this place was about three years ago and the impression that was left in my mind was that this place is very expensive. As I return, I was surprised to see how so much has changed and how this place has adjusted to cater the Filipino market.

 What I find really interesting in Aji Sushi is their Cheetos Roll. That's one innovative maki. 

Yzzy Eats - Grub Hub Food Park (3/16)

What I love about Yzzy Eats is their BFLC. That's Bacon Fried Like Chicken. Slices of fresh, uncured bacon seasoned with their special mix of herbs and spices, dredged, then deep fried just like chicken. It's crispy bacon with a good amount of saltiness and chicken breading. 

Vagabonds Artisan Comfort Food

I was recently invited to try out Vagabonds Artisan Comfort Food. It got me really excited to try their 1000 grams steak, but my experience with this restaurant was beyond my expectation. I was able to try almost everything on the menu! Awesome! 

Party Toques: The Food Platter Expert

From the ones that brought you Gourmade by Chef Rob Lau, comes Party Toques! Owned by Chef Rob and Chef Mike, they offer gourmet dishes served in platters, which are best for gatherings. It's about time that these awesome chefs came up with this idea because I'm getting quite fed up with fast food already when we talk about delivery.

I was invited to try out Sasa by my friend Harvard (Alwayshungry.ph) for lunch. We tried a variety of their dishes, from their most recommended as well as new dishes on the menu.

Midas Cafe (Midas Hotel & Casino)

When talking about classy buffet dining, hotel buffets are the best places to go to. Zomato held a foodie meetup at the Midas Cafe and I was lucky to be invited to join other Zomato foodies. 

Big Jap (24 H Apartment Hotel Makati)

There's this new Japanese restaurant in Makati City which serves unlimited ebi tempura and tonkatsu. They also serve other Japanese dishes a la carte and they are absolutely good! Sharing my Big Jap experience here. 

Domo (Tomas Morato)

Whenever we crave for sashimi, my Shoti and I would always come to Domo. For only 499 Php, we would enjoy unlimited sashimi to satisfy our craving along with other Japanese dishes. 

Ramen Cool (Kapitolyo)

I always pass by Ramen Cool whenever I am in Kapitolyo since it is located at an intersection close to where I work, but I never tried it before. After a random weekday morning workout at Ace Water Spa, I decided to look for a restaurant which was just walking-distance away from Ace and I ended up trying out Ramen Cool. 

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka (Eastwood)



When it comes to ramen, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka has been my place to be. One Saturday night after my masters class, my sisters and I decided to have a quick dinner at their Eastwood branch. 

Nori Sushi Burrito x Yakitori


I always pass by Nori whenever I am in Kapitolyo but from the outside, I always thought that it was a Japanese restaurant about to open real soon. I only found out that they are already functioning through my boss who decided that we dine there for lunch (he knows I'm a blogger. Lol). 

FHM Bro Con After Party at House Manila


Last July 11, 2015 the FHM BroCon and 100 Sexiest Victory Party was held at the SMX Convention Center. The BroCon kinda like your usual convention events, only this time you get to meet the FHM girls. We skipped the convention and the yearly FHM fashion show and headed on to House Manila where the after party is being held.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka (Glorietta)


The rainy season has come, and what comes best during rainy days is a bowl of ramen. My craving for ramen has brought me to Hokkaido Ramen Santouka in Glorietta which was recommended by a friend who is also a foodie.

Fuze Resto Lounge


Shabu shabu has been a craze for Manila foodies and we have recently discovered a good resto-lounge in Antipolo. Along Soliven Avenue in Masinag, comes Fuze Resto-Lounge. For those who  also love to go on a food trip at Lilac Street in Marikina, Fuze is near to that place and you just can't miss this!
