The rainy season has come, and what comes best during rainy days is a bowl of ramen. My craving for ramen has brought me to Hokkaido Ramen Santouka in Glorietta which was recommended by a friend who is also a foodie.

I was in Makati area at that time so I dined at their branch in Glorietta (they have other branches around the metro). Upon entering the restaurant, the cheerful staff will greet you in Japanese and accommodate you. The ambiance and interiors of the place also give a classy modern Japanese dining feel.

I tried their Shio Ramen which was one of their best sellers. I was also advised that it's better with an extra egg so I had an extra komi-tamago (flavored boiled egg) to complement with the ramen. I must say that this was the best ramen that I had so far! The moment that I tried the soup, I had no hesitation of giving a compliment and say, "uy sarap (delicious/oishii)!" I also had iced green tea with my ramen but it was average. Still, the ramen is exquisite.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka on their delicious soup:

"To make our mild, pearl-colored Tonkotsu soup, we take the time about 20 hours to simmer the pork bones before adding our vegetables, dried fish, kelp and other special ingredients. We cherish the exceptional taste and flavor of our special soup and insure that it is never boiled. Although some of you may believe that the soup may not be hot enough, we purposefully maintain the soup at its optimal temperature to best be enjoyed by everyone, be they children or the elderly. We strictly maintain the exact same cooking standards as the other Ramen Santouka restaurant around the world."
