I had a Customized Cake made for Robin's Birthday

September 11, 2020 Phantasm Darkstar 0 Comment(s)

Whenever Robin's birthday would come, we would normally have a short vacation somewhere. Because of the pandemic, we couldn't celebrate that way for this year. We didn't have any plans as well for his quarantine birthday because he is busy serving as a medical frontliner. I couldn't let his birthday pass without doing anything special so I decided to surprise him with an amazing cake.

Sandy's Spreads and Dips

September 11, 2020 Phantasm Darkstar 0 Comment(s)

Recently, I have discovered these delectable spreads of Sandy’s Spreads & Dips from my friends, and these are just so good to be underrated. Their spreads taste better than the commercial ones, at an affordable price point, without compromising quality. This is not a sponsored post.

Travelbook.ph to Close Down the Business

July 08, 2020 Phantasm Darkstar 0 Comment(s)

This week, I just received a message from Travelbook.ph saying that they are about to close down the business. It was sad news to hear them go, as I have personally collaborated with them over the past years by promoting some of their clients through this blog and through my social media. They were very fun to work with and communicating with them was flawless. I feel so bad to see them go. This pandemic has definitely hit us bad so much.
The last day of operations for the Travelbook.ph website and application will be on July 15, 2020.
For more details about your Travelbook.ph bookings, cancellation and refund, and reward points redemption, click here
Thank you for all these years, Travelbook.ph. We will surely miss you.  :'(

Wearing Contact Lenses During the COVID-19 Pandemic

June 13, 2020 Phantasm Darkstar 0 Comment(s)

During this COVID-19 pandemic, you may have wondered, "Is it safe to wear contact lenses?" We have always been informed that we should avoid touching our faces, especially our eyes during this pandemic. Wearing face shields are also helpful in protecting yourself from acquiring the virus (prevention of droplet transmission), so I thought that "I should avoid wearing contact lenses, and wearing eyeglasses would be better." If you thought of the same thing, then we are both wrong.

Trying out the Strawberry Champorado and Filipino Breakfast at Le Monet Hotel Baguio

May 26, 2020 Phantasm Darkstar 0 Comment(s)

Before the pandemic started, Robin and I were still able to travel and celebrate our anniversary in Baguio City, Philippines. When we talk about Baguio, one of their must-tries is a unique strawberry dish. Recently, we learned about a new trend which is the strawberry champorado. It is available in Le Monet Hotel, located in Camp John Hay. We decided to make a reservation and have our breakfast there.

Ortigas Cinemas

April 29, 2020 Phantasm Darkstar 0 Comment(s)

Before the lockdown due to the pandemic, I was able to try the newly-opened Ortigas Cinemas in Estancia.
The ticket booth gives quite a luxurious vibe and there's not much crowd. I think this is going to be my new favorite cinema. The price of tickets? Quite similar to SM Megamall's Pricing.
The first thing that tried was The Screening Room. The seats here are fancier than the regular ones. I was also able to try the regular seating but I wasn't able to take photos of it. The difference aside from the seats? The Screening Room has its own comfort room. You may need to talk a short walk to the comfort room for the regular seating--I find this quite crucial if you want to take a toilet break in the middle of a movie.
They did not allow outside food except Reel Bites. Here's a copy of the menu.
Everything is new and the seats are comfortable. There's a call button, controls for the recliner, a small lamp, and even a USB port at the side underneath the table.

Buy a Mask and Help a Front Liner (NAYITEK)

March 25, 2020 Phantasm Darkstar 1 Comment(s)

In this photo, I’m wearing a NAYITEK nano-fiber medical mask. It’s a washable/reusable mask (good for 60-90 days) with 99% virus filtration rate.** With a quadruple protection filter, it has a high filtering efficiency, suitable for environments with heavy air pollution and virus ravages. Each layer of the filter element intercepts different harmful substances, a layer of skin-friendly membrane, hypoallergenic; 3D breathing space structure, double-layer micro-filtration layer, the best mask against COVID-19. Better than N95.*

Experience Sound Healing at Mysterium Philippines

February 26, 2020 Phantasm Darkstar 0 Comment(s)

Have you been feeling a bit off lately? Moody? Stressed? Mercury is in retrograde again and we may all feel worse during these days (you may feel more frustrated, anxious, or impatient, etc.). Recently, I tried a new way to unwind and it's called sound healing.
Sound healing is a practice that uses vibrations to relax your mind and body. It has been used for centuries already and is believed to relieve ailments, stress, anxiety, and even insomnia. Personally, I find sound healing to be effective for me whenever I am experiencing insomnia. I have a Spotify playlist for sound healing (check out my sound healing Spotify playlist) that helps me fall asleep; but recently, I decided to try and attend a live sound healing session. I must say, the experience was totally different and way better than simply listening to recorded music.
