Wee Nam Kee Introduces New Items on the Menu
Wee Nam Kee has recently released new and exciting things on the menu. Together with some of the KTG family, we went to their branch in Salcedo, Makati to try their new dishes.

Established in 1989 in Singapore, Wee Nam Kee has been serving Hainanese Chicken Rice for the past 25 years. Starting out in Singapore's Upper Thomson district, the restaurant eventually found the cult status it enjoys today when it moved to the Novena area. Multi-awarded and recognized by many food lovers as the authentic representation of Singapore's Hainanese Chicken Rice, Wee Nam Kee continues to expand both domestically and internationally, with more locations planned for Singapore, the Philippines, and beyond.
Here are the ones that we tried:
For the beverages, we had the Lemon Iced Tea, Cucumber Lime Refresher, and Strawberry Passion Fruit Cooler. The iced tea was good--lemon iced tea with a hint of orange, it's best to order the bottomless one. The other two were also good, it had a fizz, much like that from sparkling water.
The Pineapple Fried Rice with Chinese Chorizo and the Sambal Fried Rice were both good and sating on their own but also pairs well with the other dishes that we had.
You can order a combination of steamed and roasted Hainanese Chicken. It's the best of both worlds and a must-try of what Wee Nam Kee is known for. For the bloggers, ours was served with century egg and seaweed. You can have these when you order the Family Platter which also includes roast pork and barbecued pork (see below).
The Roasted Pork and BBQ Pork. The roasted pork was tender and crispy, which is quite similar to our own lechon kawali. The BBQ pork was also good, it reminded me of my favorite pecking duck, only this was pork.
The Salt and Pepper Shrimp gives a good balance from the sweetness of the other dishes.
The Hainanese Curry Fish Fillet looked like our Kare-Kare when I first had a glance at it. I loved this dish, it was good. There was a hint of creaminess and it didn't come strong as I expected. It makes you want to dig in for more.
Grilled US Flat Iron Steak in Sweet Soy Sauce. Tender steak with sweet sauce. The sauce is quite thick so it's best to pair it with rice.
