Sutuwaki (Ormoc)

Recently, I visited Ormoc for my medical-related work and our client brought us to Sutuwaki for early dinner. I was told that this was one of the known restaurants here.
Sutuwaki is the short term for sugba (grilled), tuwa (stewed), and kilaw (raw). Sutuwaki is located on Larrazabal Street, Ormoc, Leyte. (Open from 9am to 11pm). They have indoor and outdoor dining which are suited for groups such as family meals, and their interiors give a cozy look, with yellow lighting that gives quite an intimate feel. The ambiance can seem intimidating but surprisingly, the dishes are inexpensive for a restaurant.

Here are the dishes that we had:
Their fried rice is good for sharing (about 3-4 persons).
The kinilaw is a favorite pick for me. It's a seafood dish similar to ceviche, featuring raw fish soaked in vinegar or acidic fruit juices which slightly "cooks" this dish.
For our choice of vegetables, we had the chopsuey. I love how the veggies here taste fresh and was cooked just right.
The lumpiang shanghai (fried spring rolls) is a staple order for me whenever I see this on the menu. Theirs did not disappoint.
For more seafood, we had the calamares (squid). I like how they did the batter and their mix of onions and tomatoes, so the outside is not completely dry. It's already good even without dipping it in vinegar.
Enjoyed our dinner here at Sutuwaki. Would definitely come back and bring my friends when I visit Ormoc again.
