Glenfiddich at Toast Asian Kitchen and Tasting Room

We had a Glenfiddich and lechon pairing master class at Toast in Ayala Malls the 30th. Sharing about what I have learned that day.

Toast to good vibes with family and friends at Toast Asian Kitchen and Tasting Room. Located on the ground floor of Ayala Malls the 30th, Ugong, Pasig City, Toast has a really nice, warm and cozy ambience suited for gatherings. 
The most-awarded single malt in the world which has won a lot of blind tasting events had come up with their whisky and lechon pairing. I was lucky enough to be invited to this event and try out their 12, 15, and 18-year old variant. 

Glenfiddich 12. Carefully matured in the finest American oak and European oak sherry casks for at least 12 years, it is mellowed in oak marrying tuns to create its sweet and subtle oak flavours. We paired this with lechon fat. It was really good before the pairing and became stronger after trying the fat. The whisky dissolves the fat and makes itself taste stronger.

Glenfiddich 15. Aged in European oak sherry casks and new oak casks, the whisky is mellowed in our unique Solera Vat, a large oak tun inspired by the sherry bodegas of Spain and Portugal. We paired this with the lechon skin. It gives depth to the flavor of the skin.

Glenfiddich 18. Has extraordinary consistency and character from an intense marrying period, and a warming, distinguished finish. Paired this with the meat. I find this really strong. 

I wasn't able to try much from the dishes of Toast. Will definitely come back and try more of their dishes.
