Looking for organic? How about wanting to try organic? Good organic food restaurants are hard to find nowadays and there are only few of them in Manila (compared to the number of high-in-fat fast-food chains and high-calorie restaurants.. eeeek!). I've got good news! Green Pastures is just in Ortigas (they also have a branch in Eastwood, Libis, Quezon City).

Located at the fourth level of Shangri-La's East Wing in Ortigas, is Green Pastures. By Cyma's Chef Robby Goco, Green Pastures is an organic restaurant and most of its ingredients are locally-sourced.

I had a photo shoot with a co-model and photographer friend one evening and everyone was into eating healthy that they decided to eat here. It was my first time to try out this restaurant so I have put my faith on them when it comes to the orders.

Here are the things that we had:

Yang Chow Fried Cauliflower Rice. 8-hour roast pork, river shrimp, 142 degree egg, scallion, lettuce, green peas, and carrots. It is as good as having Yang Chow fried rice without realizing that you are having cauliflower instead. Having cauliflower as a substitute for rice is also known to aid in weight loss.

House Made Cheese: Burrata. Mt. Atok organic strawberries, grape tomatoes, basil oil, balsamic syrup, and lemon zest. Burrata is high in fat and an ounce contains about 90 calories. This dish can actually trick you on your diet but taste-wise, the combination of fruits and burrata cheese is indulging.

KFC - Korean Fried Cauliflower. Soy garlic glazed, house made sriracha mayo. For those who are not into eating vegetables, this is a must-try. This KFC dish tastes like you are just having that soy-glazed Korean Fried Chicken which is really good and you won't be able to say "no" to veggies again.

Milkeggshoney. Organic honeycomb, greek yogurt, cirus curd. It's my first time to try organic honeycomb and this dessert is totally different from the ones that I had. Slightly sweet with a touch of creamy-sour taste and a different texture (from the honeycomb). The healthy ingredients did not give me a guilty feeling from eating dessert. You just have to watch out for the honeycomb getting stuck between your teeth.
