bbq,
I like the racks that they provide on the table. Saves up space since there are a lot of servings. By the way, lettuce is also provided for the sides and is also refillable.
Soban K-Town Grill
Richie (pickiesteater.net) recently invited me to a brunch meetup with some vloggers at the newly-opened branch of Soban -Town Grill in Bonifacio Global City. Sharing what he had here in this post.
The new branch of Soban K-Town Grill is located on the second floor of One Bonifacio High Street Mall, 28th Street corner 5th Avenue (beside Shangri-La at the Fort), Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. I like the new interiors a lot, compared to the other branches (I hope the older ones get a makeover like this). The look is classy and cozy, and they have a good exhaust for the grill--you wouldn't be leaving the restaurant, smelling as newly-grilled samgyeopsal.
Here's what we had at Soban:
I ordered the ripe mango smoothie for my beverage. A good pair for the meat that we will be indulging into.
We ordered for two (2) sets of the Mega Meat BBQ Set (a single order is good for 2 pax) and some ala carte meat on the menu since there were five of us. The Mega Meat BBQ set comes with large fresh woo samgyup (beef belly), large fresh samgyupsal (pork belly), 2 small samgyupsal or dak galbi (chicken thigh fillet) of any flavor, with unlimited white rice, soup, and side dishes.
They offer six (6) side dishes that are refillable:
Korean soybean sprouts,
Seasoned soybean sprouts,
Lettuce with dressing (they normally serve sweetened mashed potato with raisins which I like a lot, but I guess they didn't have it when we visited so they replaced it with lettuce instead),
Caramelized nuts with anchovies (I also like this a lot),
Korean Egg Roll,
and Kimchi.
The soup and sauces are both refillable, as well as the white rice (unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the rice). I love the sweet sauce, I had a couple of refills for this.
For the meats, part of the Mega Meat is the Woo Samgyup (large). I love the quality of their meat, it's fresh USDA Choice marbled beef belly.
Next is the Samgyupsal, this is also the Large serving. This is their plain fresh pork belly and it tastes good.
Still part of the Mega Meat is a serving of small samgyupsal, choice of any flavor. We had the Honey Spiced Samgyupsal. It's a house specialty--It's flavorful but I don't find it too sweet, not spicy. There's a good balance with the honey and spices. It's good.
For our fourth option for the Mega Meat, we had the Dak Galbi, or the fresh chicken thigh fillet. It's also good and you can have it in spicy flavor.
Then we had an extra order of meat; a large serving of Black Pepper Samgyupsal. It also comes with unlimited side dishes. (Unlimited rice and soup for +60 Php).
Jal meokkessumnida!
