Formerly known as Splice Resto Bar, they have rebranded as Splice Events Place and Restaurant. I was invited to try out their comfort food.
Experience delicious comfort food at Splice Events Place & Restaurant, located at Unit 16-18 of the up-and-coming The Portal, Greenfield District in Mandaluyong City. Since mid-2015, Splice has been gaining popularity for serving a delicious fusion of unique yet homey comfort food at an affordable price range, and with its spacious yet cozy layout, is making a name as a go-to events place home to hip and happening productions and special occassions -- including Spoken Word events, Geek Fight trivia nights, PR launches, company functions, baptismals, reunions, and a lot more.
Making the dining experience complete, Splice also hosts regular acoustic acts to serenade the crowd. Unique, delicious food and drinks, a price range easy on the pocket, spacious and cozy layout for events, and regular entertainment acts. (Splice can cater a total of 120 pax. 100 inside and 20 outside.)
Here are the dishes that we had:
Sweet Corn Chowder. Rich, hearty and velvety cream soup. I love this one. It's creamy with a good taste of sweet corn but not overwhelmingly sweet. A perfect appetizer for me.
Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. Romaine lettuce, caesar dressing, bacon, parmesan and croutons. They have a good serving of chicken on this salad. A good protein diet that's sating.
Beef Hamburger Steak. Served with mushroom gravy. Served sizzling, the mushroom gravy is poured by the waiter on your table. Savory and smells really appetizing.
Grilled Chicken Fillet. Served with teriyaki glaze. This is quite spicy.
Splice Sisig. Can be served with egg.
Bangus Ala Pobre. This one is good. Fish is tender.
Puttanesca. Tomatoes, garlic, olives, capers and anchovies. Tastes good.
Sundried Tomato and Creamy Pesto. Fresh pesto finished with sundried tomatoes and cream. This is also good. It also has a generous amount of pesto.
Spaghetti with Meatballs. Beef meatballs in a rich tomato sauce. Tastes like sweet-style tomato sauce. It's like pizza sauce on the spaghetti.
Barbecue Burger. 1/3-pound beef patty, sauteed mushroom, caramelized onions and bbq sauce.
Chili Cheese Burger. 1/3-pound patty, chili con carne, pickled jalapeno, cheddar cheese. For my palate, it wasn't too spicy as I expected from the term "chili." It was just the right amount of spice. Thick, juicy and tender patty. I like this better than the Barbecue Burger.
