It was Aldous' birthday (Aldous Ate the World) and there was no better way to celebrate it than with a fine dinner at Todd English Food Hall with our blogger group.

Located at the fifth floor of SM Aura Premiere, C5 corner 26th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Todd English Food Hall is known for its elegant interiors and about a hundred dishes to choose from on the menu.

I love how the interiors feel cozy at the same time classy. The restaurant is spacious with elegance at every corner.

Here's what we had for our meal course:

Smoothies (Lemon, Mango, Orange, Watermelon). Fresh fruits, not too sweet. Just right.

Communal

Frito Misto. Todd English deep fried sampler (calamari, shrimps, oysters) chipotle chorizo sauce.

Tuna Tartare. Marinated sushi grade tuna, crispy marmalade shrimp finished with scallion cream and spicy aioli. I'm a sashimi lover and I love what they did to this meal. The tuna is tastier with a good spicy aftertaste that isn't overpowering the cold sashimi feel.

Lobster Guacamole. Homemade crispy chips served with fresh lobster tail guacamole. A good appetizer while we wait for the rest of the meals to be served.

Handmade Asian Dumplings

Pork Dumpling (Seared). Ponzu reduction. Moist and tasty dumpling. The ponzu reduction made it indulging compared to the usual soy sauce on dumplings.

Salads

Simple Salad. Fresh mixed greens, grilled corn, baby heirloom tomato, shallot vinaigrette and olive oil.

Spinach Salad. Fresh spinach, bacon balsamic dressing, cranberry, baby heirloom tomatoes, fried onion, grilled peach, cranberries

Flatbread

Chorizo & Shrimp. Piquillo sauce, manchego cheese, chorizo, sexy scallions. Tastes average.

Fig & Prosciutto. Fig jam, gorgonzola, rosemary, prosciutto, scallions. Tastes average but I did not like the smell of this dish, though.

Bronx Bomber. Tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, caramelized onion, parmesan cheese, basil. Taste good but it's just like the average pizza.

Truffle Fungi. Truffle vinaigrette, mixed mushrooms, fontina, parsley. You can smell the truffles and it's distinct in the taste.

Pasta

Seafood Diablo Orzo. I love mix of the seafood with the risotto. There is a bit of spice on this dish but I find it delectable.

Brooklyn Style Meatball Spaghetti. The spaghetti tastes like Italian style spaghetti, the meatball is huge and soft. Tastes good.

Agnolotti Veal. Tastes really good. Meat is soft and tasty. Sauce is creamy.

The Ocean Grill

Miso Glaze Salmon. Pan crisped salmon, miso glaze sauce. Juicy and soft salmon, tastes really good.

Asian

Wagyu Fried Rice. Tastes just right.

Mains

T.E. Pork Chop. 48 hours brined chops served with French beans, marbled potato, sweet potato and demi-glace sauce. It was good but I didn't seem to enjoy this dish much. Could be fatty.

Steak and Marrow. U.S. hanger steak with bone marrow. The steak was medium rare to well done. Marrow was so-so (I prefer my marrow boiled like in bulalo).

Lamb Chops. Pea orzo, silky carrot puree, mint yogurt, lamb jus. Tender. Tastes average.

Signature Desserts

The Bomb. Homemade red velvet, ice cream cake, white chocolate dome, homemade graham cracker soil, & espresso cream. This was the highlight of our dinner because of how it was served. Can get too sweet, though.

Betty White. Tastes like tiramisu: grahams and gelato.

OMG. Lava cake, silky pudding, cereal crumble, chocolate gelato. There is a variety of texture, taste and temperature on this one. Contrasting but all good.

Mandatory groupie with the group. We definitely enjoyed our dinner here.

Happy Birthday, Aldous!!!
