My mom was craving for congee one weekday afternoon when we went shopping at SM Megamall. We tried to search for restaurants in the mall which serves congee and we ended up trying out Tuan Tuan.

Located at the third floor of Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall, Ortigas, Mandaluyong City, Tuan Tuan is a Chinese Brasserie which is more of a fusion of Chinese and French dining.

The interiors are of French design and the place gives a fine dining feel. They have good lighting which is a plus factor for me. We were lucky that we dined here on a weekday because Tuan Tuan is usually full whenever I would pass by this restaurant on weekends.

For a place that looks very classy, I'm surprised that their menu is not as expensive as I have expected. I still find it fair and justifiable for the price.

Here are the things that we had:
Crispy Barbecued Pork Snow Buns with complimentary Hong Kong Style Coffee. I'm a fan of pork buns and I've tried ones from other chinese restaurants (aside from their main competitor) but I've been curious about it since people have been comparing the two of them and the favors are different. I would say that their buns are also good, I love that it's soft in the right amount, as well as the filling which tastes good. As for comparing it with its number one competitor, I find this more delicate and sweet in the right amount because the other one's buns are much sweeter. Thus, I prefer Tuan Tuan's.

The complimentary Hong Kong style coffee that is served with the snow buns are refillable. The strength of the coffee is just right, though the added sweetener and milk was a bit too much that it felt concentrated.

Pork and Century Egg Congee. Served with fried crullers. The amount of serving for this one can be for sharing. Tastes just right, not salty nor bland, not too creamy as well. Though, it was a bit surprising because a congee is basically a rice porridge. This one was more of a chinese cream soup with chicken eggs. I opted to order this one because I simply love century eggs; hope that they would serve more of that in the ingredients.  The pork is of the right tenderness. The crullers were oily; I think that a random soft bread would actually be a better complement to the congee.

Pork Meatball and Liver Congee. Served with fried crullers. Same as the other congee that we ordered, just had pork meatball and liver this time.

Warm Banana Bread Pudding with Kahlua Creme Anglaise. The banana bread pudding was baked well and the creme complements it well. The creme was addicting for me. As for the banana bread pudding, my sister loves it very much.

Random sharing/discovery: The Kahlua Creme also works well with the Snow Buns! Delicious!

Mandatory Groupie. ^_^
Would definitely come back to try other dishes.
