Mey Lin: Chinese Specialties (SM Megamall)

Last week, my mom was craving for authentic braised pork knuckles (pata tim) and has requested me to look for a restaurant near our place where we could have it.

I came up with Mey Lin, which was located at the 4th floor of Mega Atrium, SM Megamall. The place was not crowded which gives a chill ambiance and the staff would welcome you with a good smile. They also offer you free house tea as you wait for your order.

Here are the things that we ordered:

Century Egg. My ever-favorite. Nothing extraordinary on how they presented this, but I have been having difficulty on finding these in supermarkets these days. Just had to order this. Cravings satisfied.

Pata Tim (Half Order). Mouth-watering braised pork with a taste of sweetness and epic fat! Not for people who are on a diet (but for people who are game for a good eat). Definitely what my mom has been craving for. It comes with four pieces of cuapao.

Cuapao with Crushed Peanuts and Mustard Greens. Comes free with the Pata Tim. The cuapao complements well with the pata tim which also gives it a good balance with its fatty texture. For an added taste, the peanuts and mustard greens could also be added.

Yang Chow Fried Rice. Served with generous ingredients such as green peas, eggs, chorizo, onion leeks, and shrimp.

Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet. Average amount of serving, fish and ingredients were cooked well. I just find it too sweet for my taste.

Spinach with Garlic. Lightly sauteed with garlic and olive oil, this brain food also aids in detoxifying our body. A good side dish especially if you had a good amount of that braised pork that we ordered. :)

Shrimp Dumplings (Hakaw/Hakao). Also one of my favorite dumplings. Good enough.

Chicken Feet. I don't eat such but as for my mom's review, it is pricey as for the amount of serving and quality of taste.

Mandatory "awkward" Groupie. ^_^
